Go Daddy, who is known for their bikini-clad, shock value Super Bowl commercials, was forced to pull their commercial amid backlash from several animal rights organizations claiming that an ad featuring adorable puppies and Michael Vick was “not appropriate.”

The premise of the ad is a lovely gaggle of golden retrievers and brown labor-doodles are playing in the viral hit “The Puppy Bowl.” Vick is coaching the golden retrievers, who are losing significantly. In a passionate halftime speech, Vick warns the pups that he has his entire life savings riding on this game. Vick proceeds to open a cupboard filled with what appears to be barbwire muzzles. Just as you get a glimpse back at the gorgeous miniature Air Buds whimpering in fear, the ad is cut short with “Do you wanna see more? Go to GoDaddy.com now!”

Go Daddy CEO Blake Irving stands by his shock value advertisement saying “I don’t see anything wrong with it. This has proven to be the most effective way to sell domain names. This, and Danica Patrick’s tits.”

No dogs were harmed in the filming of the Go Daddy commercial, we think. facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestmail
